The world's largest underground gas storage facility was created in an aquifer. It provides 30-35% of the daily demand of Moscow and Moscow Region and also solves most of the issues of gas supply to the Central Region of Russia. The working capacity of Kasimov UGS is 12 billion cubic meters of gas. The maximum daily withdrawal is 100 million cubic meters of gas.
The construction of the Kasimov UGS was started in 1968. The UGS was built and commissioned stage-by-stage, and today it includes five stages. The third stage of the UGS expansion was completed in 1993. Since 2001, JSC Gazproektinzhiniring has been the general designer of modification of the 3rd stage and construction of the 4th and 5th stages of Kasimov UGS expansion. The Company's specialists carried out a range of work: from preparing an investment feasibility study to designer supervision at construction sites.
